C-PACE for Community Banks and Credit Unions is a free MGB Academy course for Missouri lenders whose commercial borrowers need capital for improvements that fall outside the usual lending box. The course is offered by Missouri Green Banc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit green bank in Chesterfield, Missouri, that administers the Missouri Clean Energy District, the statutory C-PACE authority under § 67.2800 RSMo. An institution can participate two ways: register as a capital provider on NPCA — National PACE Capital Access — or refer owners to the platform, which surfaces best-fit financing at no cost to them. A C-PACE assessment is structured to sit alongside an existing mortgage relationship rather than displace it, and existing mortgage lender consent is obtained before closing. The course covers senior lender consent and lien priority, the economic benefit standard, CLEAR, and Building Decarbonization in a Box across five modules and fourteen segments, about 26 minutes, self-paced, ending with an MGB Academy course completion certificate.
