The Missouri jurisdictions that have not yet joined MCED hold an estimated 65,900 commercial buildings and 906 million square feet of floorspace. Their building stock ages like the rest of the state: 40% of floorspace predates 1980, and half has gone unrenovated since 2000. About 6,800 buildings over 25,000 square feet, holding 522 million square feet, would gain access to C-PACE financing if their communities joined the district.
